Private Fund Associate Director

Job Responsibilities:

Lead the administration of various hedge, mutual and private equity fund and asset manager relationships and oversee their financial and accounting functions.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining, managing, and nurturing multiple client relationships
  • Review the monthly/quarterly calculation of hedge fund/private equity fund NAVs as prepared by the administrator.
  • Review and approve fund expenses
  • Review partner allocations and waterfall schedules
  • Review fee calculations including, but not limited to, management fees, professional fees, and carried interest allocations
  • Review capital activity including capital calls, distributions, and transfers
  • Coordinating and managing the external audit and tax process on behalf of multiple clients
  • Manage the preparation and issuance of audited financial statements
  • Review and approve annual K-1s for private funds and tax returns
  • Oversight of client’s management company books and records including payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, general bookkeeping and invoicing and annual budgeting

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of financial services experience (Accounting/Audit/Administration/Mutual funds/Hedge funds/Private Equity Funds)
  • Minimum of 4-year college degree required
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are essential
  • Previous asset management or pooled vehicle experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks and control gaps in processes and successfully delivering process improvement
  • Passion for delivering an exceptional client experience
  • Understanding of private fund offering docs and the intricacies of private equity vehicles
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office: strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
  • Proficient in Quickbooks
  • Ability to multi-task and a willingness to accept any task that will benefit a growing organization
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills

Salary Range: $65,000-$100,000 annually, based on experience

Compliance Associate (Registered Investment Adviser CCO Support)

Position Overview: We are seeking a compliance professional who is a natural communicator, a multi-tasker at heart, and with a problem-solving mindset that thrives in a fast-paced and evolving organization. Our ideal candidate had abundant curiosity and is a natural researcher. They consistently perform at a high level under variable workloads and have the innate ability to form and maintain strong relationships with clients and across the firm to ensure successful outcomes. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist PINE’s registered investment adviser clients by providing regulatory and compliance support 
  • Provide oversight of registered investment adviser compliance matters 
  • Assist in the development of registered investment adviser risk assessment and risk analysis programs 
  • Complete annual reviews in accordance with Rule 206(4)-7 of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 
  • Establish and/or update all required items for a registered investment adviser including an ongoing compliance calendar, compliance manual and code of ethics 
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of periodic, annual, and ongoing regulatory filings (Form ADV, Form PF, 13F, 13D/G, 13H, etc.) 
  • Conduct periodic and annual employee compliance training  
  • Conduct annual reviews of key vendors including administrators, transfer agents, fund distributors, auditors, prime brokers, etc. 
  • Conduct quarterly forensic compliance program testing, including performing ongoing reviews based on the clients’ written policies and procedures 
  • Assist with regulatory examinations of clients’ compliance programs conducted by regulatory authorities, including SEC, NFA and state securities boards 
  • Assist in the development/maintenance of compliance policies and procedures as well as the design/maintenance of the compliance program 
  • Maintain awareness of industry regulatory developments and assist in developing updated policies for registered investment advisers 
  • Provide support to Registered Fund CCO Support services as needed 

Requirements:  

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are essential 
  • Demonstrated experience with compliance and regulatory matters affecting the operations and governance of investment advisers, pooled investment vehicles and registered mutual funds 
  • Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940, Regulation D, and other SEC, FINRA and NFA laws and regulations that affect asset managers 
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office: strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word required 
  • Ability to multi-task and a willingness to accept any task that will benefit a growing organization 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and clients 
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills 

Salary Range: $55,000- $80,000 annually, based on experience

Compliance Associate (Registered Fund Chief Compliance Officer Support)

  • Complete annual policy and procedure reviews in accordance with Rule 38a-1 of the Investment Company Act of 1940 
  • Establish and/or update key items for a registered fund including an ongoing compliance calendar, compliance manual and code of ethics 
  • Conduct annual due diligence reviews of registered fund service providers including administrators, transfer agents, fund distributors and custodians 
  • Assist with regulatory examinations of registered fund compliance programs conducted by regulatory authorities, including SEC and NFA 
  • Assist in the development/maintenance of compliance policies and procedures 
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory developments and assist in developing updated policies for registered funds 
  • Provide support to Registered Investment Adviser CCO Support Services (separate line of business at PINE) as needed 
  • Develop and maintain registered fund risk assessment and risk analysis programs 

Requirements:  

  • 1-3 years of compliance experience in the asset management space 
  • Minimum of 4-year college degree required 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills are essential 
  • Demonstrated experience with compliance and regulatory matters affecting the operations and governance of investment advisers, pooled investment vehicles and registered mutual funds 
  • Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940 and other laws and regulations that affect asset managers 
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office: strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
